b. 1986 Birmingham, Alabama Working in Atlanta, Georgia.
My work examines middle-class-suburban American idealism. There is this quandary in my life and in my work as to whether I am a part of this or simply an observer.
My work is divided into three parts: the archive, the inventory, and the survey. The archive is a visual collection of important aspects of my life. The inventory is a constant evaluation of everything I own and its value. The survey is a series that focuses on my interactions with others, in which I attempt to gather seemingly random bits of information.
As Americans, a lot of us are given the opportunity to choose the way in which we live our lives, yet so many of us remain unsatisfied. It is through this act of self-examination that I determine the success and validity of the path I am actively pursuing.
